Glemore’s Community Garden

Since 2020, our small group of volunteer members on the Board of Directors have been dedicated to working closely with the city to develop this community garden. After 4 years of hard work and commitment that went into this project, we are thrilled to announce our first season of growing in 2024. A big thank you to everyone involved in making this a great success!

Community gardening is an activity for all ages and abilities. The City of Kelowna  supports our community gardening in Glenmore by providing land, while Hayfield Horizon Gardening Association coordinates the gardeners and plots.

Questions You May Have

Are there rules?

Yes, rules and bylaws have been created by our volunteer Board of Directors. These help to keep our community practices fair and consistent. Changes to bylaws are voted on by all garden members during our annual AGM.

How do I become a Member?

We currently have a lot of interest and a waitlist for new members. Once you have joined the waitlist, we will contact you when a plot becomes available based on your place on the list.

What does it cost to become a member?

The annual fee will be announced at the AGM. Joining the waitlist doesn’t commit you to the fee, but reserves you the opportunity to pay for your membership when a plot becomes available. As long as you pay the fee before the announced deadline, you will keep your plot each year.

How can I become a member of the Board of Directors?

New Board of Director members are voted in during the annual AGM. If you are a current garden member and you are interested in joining the board, please contact us to submit a nomination.
